Across Wales Walk
I am going for a bit of a walk to raise some money for Oxford Transplant Foundation and the Dorset Kidney Fund. The idea is to attempt the Across Wales Walk in September 2010. 45 miles from the English/Welsh border to Aberystwyth on the coast in one day.
Three years ago in August 2007 I had a kidney and pancreas transplant. Since the age of 13 I had been a Type 1 diabetic. Over the years I had had several complications but where possible tried to live a normal life like millions of other people suffering from diabetes. In the last few years before my transplant I was having problems with hypoglycaemic (low blood sugar) attacks and kidney disease.
I have received great care from the staff at the Churchill Hospital, where the Oxford Transplant Foundation is based and at the Renal Clinic in Dorchester. Money raised will go to help extend the facilities at the Churchill Hospital and support renal patients in Dorset.
If you would like to sponsor me I have got two JustGiving pages, one for each charity
Just Giving - Dorset Kidney Fund
Just Giving - Oxford Transplant Foundation
You are welcome to chose either one. If possible I would like to have the money split evenly.
Thanks for your support.
Ben
